About the Workshop: The LEGO® Serious Play® (LSP) methodology is a radical, experiential process designed to help business teams finish projects faster — with less friction, more fun. Already well known in Europe, Asia and Mexico, GABC introduced LSP to members in 2012 and it’s now back by popular demand. Typical workshops last 1-2 days  but this session offered through GABC is an introduction lasting just 2 hours to get the basics and gain a solid understanding of LSP’s potential for your own organization. We’ll focus on solving a real-life business problem related to multi-cultural teams. We’ll teach the art of reaching a collaborative decision among team members of different cultures, a “leaning forward” approach where everybody contributes.

Why Legos? The LEGO® Serious Play® methodology was developed by the Lego® Company when it had to redefine its own strategy  development in the mid 90s and was not able to achieve successful outcomes using traditional tools and methodologies. Through research and years of refinement they developed LSP as a methodology to solve problems and improve decision-making. Yes, we actually use Lego® bricks! They work as a catalyst, and when used for building metaphors, they trigger surprising result.

This event generously sponsored by District Hall. District Hall is a dedicated civic space where the innovation community can gather and exchange ideas. The building was privately funded and built by Boston Global Investors, as the first project in their twenty-three acre masterplan for Seaport Square. Operations and programming are run by the Venture Café Foundation, a not-for-profit sister organization to the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC). Our hospitality partners are Gather and Brew.
